Jian

Jian appeared over 2,000 years ago, and are generally straight, double-edged swords. They are the preferred swords of nobles and scholars.

Han Jian - from the Han Dynasty tend to have blockier lines

Tang Jian - are elegant, with an elongated straight handle and fittings

Ming Jian - the pinnacle of Chinese straight swords, Ming Jian boast elegant fittings and an hourglass handle.

Qing Jian - Similar to Ming Jian in form.
